Page 2 of 2 Colors of Summer Translucent washes of gold, blue and soft pink around the eyes, with sheer tinted moisturizers and bronzers on the skin, are this summer’s palette, says Estée Lauder Premier Makeup Artist Rick DiCecca. This universal look allows skin to show through and includes shades that flatter everyone.
Want to make the switch to bronzer? DiCecca recommends easing into it. Apply first to eyelids and cheekbones for a subtle sunny glow, then progress to the rest of the face. Using a large blush brush, add color to areas that naturally get the most sun exposure: forehead, cheekbones, nose and jawline. Not sure of the right shade? Make a fist, hold for 10 seconds, release and then match bronzer to the color of your palm. Hair Removal We all have hair in places we wish we didn’t. To get rid of it, try these products:
Razors: Schick Intuition razor in Cucumber Melon, $7.99. Exfoliate, wet area, and move razor in opposite direction of hair growth. No gel or cream is needed because Intuition's all-in-one cartridge contains pivoting triple blades surrounded by a skin conditioning solid. Wax: Yves Rocher Essentiel Soothing Hair Removal Kit, $12. Wax removes hair from the root for long-lasting results. Prep area with baby powder and pull strip opposite from hair growth. Depilatories: Nair Hair Remover No Touch Glide-On Cream, $5. Depilatories go slightly below the skin’s surface and break down the protein structure of hair in three to 10 minutes. Anti-irritating lotions: Eucerin Calming Creme, $7.49. Removing hair can strip the skin of moisture and cause redness or an infection. Apply a soothing lotion immediately after.
